A true art wedding / Una auténtica boda de arte

I met Richard and Sal (Salvador) on June 24, 2011, the day of San Juan. They flew from London to have the first appointment with me. Richard is Australian and Sal from Los Angeles, with Mexican parents. They wanted a true art wedding. Both are kind and courteous, always  very attentive towards me in order to make my job as easy as possible. On the wedding day I could see that they were also friends of their friends. We could breathe the good waves and the good mood that existed between all of them. Well, I suppose that it also helped that the previous day we organized a Welcome Cocktail  in a cool restaurant with terrace on the beach, sunset, good tapas and fresh Sangria. It was a real pleasure to organize this wedding. One of these weddings “Marry me in Spain” that characterizes us, with guests of different nationalities and languages, with mixtures of cultures and flavors, but all with a common interest: spending some great time altogether. Richard studied the Flute Traversière in Paris, they wanted to celebrate their wedding in a majestic, elegant venue and with history. Proposing them the Mnac  (Museum national of Art of Catalonia), with its classic beauty, awesome pieces  of art inside a majestic and emblematic palace in Barcelona, was a success and Richard and Sal immediately loved it.And in fact, we can say that Marry me in Spain is the first agency of wedding planners in having organized a ceremony in the Mnac.The chosen place was under the dome. Precious! Solemn! Being under these frescos was simply breathtaking.The cocktail that followed also left without respiration the guests since it was taking place in the terrace of the Mnac with its amazing view of Barcelona! The amazement keeps going when they saw the show of light and of sound of the Magical Fountains (we scheduled the cocktail on purpose so they could see it).The dinner was in the Restaurant Oleum de Laie in the same MNAC building. The most elegant, cozy restaurant with mirrors on the  ceiling ,  2  paintings from Tapiès ( unfortunately they don’t have them anymore) and of course  the sight of Barcelona. For the decoration, Sal and Richards wanted something sober. We play with the white and black in all the points. We choose the black tablecloths, centers of tables squared with white flowers and white candles. White and black fans, wedding details for the guests. And see our tower of delicious mini cakes with bows (white and black of course)My dearest  Richard and Sal: thanks for trusting me and give us the opportunity to share this unique wedding, a true art wedding. Conocí a Richard y a Sal (Salvador) el 24 de junio de 2011, el día de San Juan. Volaron desde Londres para tener una primera cita conmigo. Richard es autraliano y Sal de Los Ángeles, aunque de origen mejicano. Son personas consideradas, atentas, detallistas y el mismo día de la boda pude comprobar que son también amigos de sus amigos. De hecho, se podía respirar en el ambiente las buenas ondas y el buen rollo que había entre todos los invitados. Bueno, supongo que también ayudó que el día anterior realizaran un Welcome Cocktail en un privé de uno de los principales restaurante de Barcelona a pie de mar.

En fin, absolutamente encantadores. Te hacían sentir bien y se preocupaban de veras por ti.

Además, fue un lujo organizarles el evento. Es una de esas bodas «Marry me in Spain», que nos caracteriza. Con invitados de diferentes nacionalidades y lenguas, con mezclas de culturas y sabores, pero todos con un interés común: pasarlo bien.

Por los orígenes e influencias de Richard, que estudió flauta travesera en París, querían celebrar su boda en un espacio majestuoso, elegante y con historia. De entre todos los espacios que seleccionamos se enamoraron del MNAC ( Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya ), destacando así su lado artístico y clásico, además de palacio emblemático en Barcelona. Todo un acierto.

Así, podemos decir que Marry me in Spain es la primera agencia de wedding planners en haber organizado una ceremonia en el MNAC. El lugar elegido fue debajo de la Cúpula. ¡Precioso! ¡Solemne! Estar debajo de unos frescos te cortaba la respiración.

El aperitivo también dejó sin aliento a los invitados ya que elegimos la Terraza del MNAC, de cara a Plaça Espanya, ofreciendo asombrosas vistas de Barcelona. Y la sorpresa por parte de los invitados siguió cuando empezó el espectáculo de luz y de sonido de las fuentes mágicas de Montjuïc ( lo planificamos de modo que fuera así, y no es broma…)

La cena fue en el Restaurante Òleum de Laie en el mismo MNAC. Un restaurante elegantísimo, acogedor, con techo de espejos, flanqueado por dos Tàpies ( que ya no tienen ahí por desgracia )… y ya no hablo más de las vistas…

Para la decoración, los novios querían algo sobrio. Jugamos con el blanco y el negro. Elegimos los manteles negros, centros de mesas cuadrados con flores y velas blancas. Y los mismos colores con los abanicos, que fueron los detalles para los invitados. Ah, y los mismos colores que los divertidísimos pastelitos individualizados con los que endulzaron la velada.

Nunca olvidaré el 16 de junio de 2012. Una auténtica Boda de Arte.
