A rainy but lovely scottish-irish wedding in Barcelona
A rainy scottish-irish wedding .
We are thrilled to share this rainy but lovely wedding in Barcelona with one of the cutest and kindest couples we ever had. A really scottish-irish wedding. Lots of details made this wedding even more sweet and precious: a centenary and emblematic Catalan rustic villa, a stunning naked cake, the traditional Scottish kilt for the groom, the friends and family, a super romantic country bouquet… and of course Anna and Darryl.
Anna, the pretty Irish bride, and Darryl, the Scottish groom wanted an intimate and lovely wedding. They wanted a wedding where nature, rustic and simple beauty came together.
Due to the rain, we had to celebrate the wedding inside the house, but we still got the touch of a country and delicate wedding we were looking for, thanks to the charm of the place and the decoration we planned. The color palette was white, green and pink, colors that were mixed perfectly into the rustic chic theme we wanted to reach.
The ceremony was full of flowers and love. We kept the doors open to let the guests enjoy the view of the nature. Even raining it was beautiful. The bride with a romantic dress designed by Gwendolynne and a stunning country bouquet walked into the aisle with the Moon river song, beautifully played by the Opera classic trio.
A lovely rustic decoration.
For the cocktail, while the catering was serving tasty tapas, like a show-cooking smoked salmon or the vichyssoise and gazpacho shots, the guests enjoyed taking pictures with the Polaroid camera in the beautiful backdrop of flowers. They could hang them later on a rustic ladder. The wheelbarrow full of ice and fresh beers, the DIY garland and the old barrels kept giving the rustic touch we wanted.
The dinner was a long table (we love long tables!) with some sweet and lovely centerpieces into white trays full of baby breaths, mini daisies and pale pink carnations, astilbes and dahlias. An olive twig tied with rope was used as the place name. For the groom and bride’s chairs we wanted to make them special and we decorated them with green leaves and pink flowers. We also put a big handmade rustic garland “JUST MARRIED” behind them decorated with more olive twigs.
A gorgeous naked cake.
A sweet table full of tasty desserts was chaired by a truly unbelievable chocolate naked cake with fresh red fruits on the top. Each guest gave their advice to the bride and the groom in the rustic guestbook. Spanish Wine bottles “Sangre de Toro” wrapped in sackcloth were the perfect wedding favors to give the final touch of this precious, convivial and rustic celebration.
Many thanks Anna, Darryl to let me part of your beautiful wedding. Thank you for all your kindness. A big hug too to Gabby from En Route Photography for these pictures. Despite of the rain, you knew how to capture the happy moments.

Good afternoon,
Myself and my fiance are planning a destination wedding in Barcelona. From looking on your wonderful website, I like the look of the «rainy scottish-irish wedding». I especially like the venue. We are travelling from Toronto, Canada where we will but we are originally Irish and all our family will be travelling from Ireland. There will be approx 20 guests.
Please let me know the type of assistance you provide.
Many thanks.
